IDeA Taste of Italy (2014)
Italian closed-end investment fund dedicated to the food & beverage industry. The fund invests in mid-sized companies that have proved good profitable growth potential, with solid and focused operational models, and led by entrepreneurs and managers who share our vision, values, risks and returns.
Founded in 1990 by Domenico Giovannini in Rome, Alice Pizza is the first Italian take-away pizza chain with 182 stores. To date 87 are managed directly, while the remaining 95 are in franchising. Following the acquisition by Taste of Italy, the company implemented a strategic plan aimed at strengthening the operational structure to support the development and management of direct points; at the same time, the management reorganized the supply chain in order to make the format increasingly efficient, starting from the production of pizza. The development of the network envisages the opening of 100 stores in Italy over the next 5 years on top of the international expansion which strategy is based on Joint Venture agreements already being defined in France and Germany.
