Agro Avo S.r.l. was founded in 2023 by the IDeA Agro team with the aim of acquiring land for conversion to avocado cultivation. The project, undertaken in collaboration with Jingold S.p.A. and SPO Zentrum—respectively, the commercial partner and the local operating partner—envisages the development of an avocado plantation on approximately 100 hectares in Carlentini, in the province of Syracuse, Sicily.
The goal is to become a leading player in the production and commercialization of Sicilian avocados in Italy within a few years. The decision to develop an avocado plantation in Sicily is driven by a clear market opportunity, as avocado consumption has shown a steady upward trend both nationally and internationally for several years. From a production standpoint, Sicily offers an ideal microclimate for avocado cultivation, ensuring high product quality, high yields, and reduced logistics costs, with clear sustainability benefits.
